This morning the thunder woke me up. As I was going around shutting windows to keep out the rain, I heard a small voice say, “Mommy, I wake up!” It was 5am.
Since it is a rainy day, it’s the perfect day for an experiment…but after combing through all my pins, nothing jumped out at me. So, today’s rainy day activity will be cooking a batch of brownies followed by making a mess with pumpkin carving.
First, we mixed up the brownies and popped them in the oven. Joe spilled some of the mix…but he cleaned up after himself.
Jake helped too.
While the brownies were baking, I brought in the gigantic pumpkin we got from our neighbor’s garden. Ours are not quite ready yet.
Joe had a blast pulling the guts out of the pumpkin. I, of course did the carving with Joe saying (like a broken record), “Mommy, where’s Joe’s knife?”
And here’s my beautiful mess of a kitchen and one messy boy, grinning ear to ear.
Gotta love the Brownie Smile! Did he immediately want to blow out the pumkin once it was lit?
Yes. I had to light it several times and each time he said “happy birthday!” before blowing it out.
