Over the past two days I have been on the rampage. I’ve planted, planted, planted. Everything from seeds to seedlings. Everywhere from the kitchen garden to the back garden.
Seeds:
Lovage
Borage
Catnip
Danvers
Carrots: Scarlet Nantes, Danvers, Paris
Sedona Onion
Spanish onion
Kale
Seedlings:
Tomatoes
Peppers
Cabbage
Surprise Lilies (from Ray’s grandma)
Pansy
Rosemary
Sage
And even with all this planting, I have even more to plant. I have baggies with seed packs lined up by date/week of planting. After this planting blitz, I’m caught up to this week so I’ll be putting the oregano, lavender and lettuce in tomorrow.
Everywhere there is a flag, there is a plant or a seed patch.
While digging holes and trenches, Joe and I found several of these little guys. Joe squeezed the first one but I managed to keep this one intact.
What is it? A hornworm pupae.
Last year, we had tobacco hornworms. This year it looks like we will have them again.
I guess we should have let the chickens loose in the garden a little bit more before planting because when we threw this one in with them, it didn’t last long.
