I remember Ray looking at me funny when I told him about all the squash I had planted. At the time, I didn’t think anything of it.
Sure, I vaguely remembered talking about people who would ding-dong-ditch giant zucchini because they would get so much from just one plant, but I didn’t think about any of that as I cheerfully planted two packages of it.
All I was thinking, was how many zucchini noodles I could make with my Veggetti.
In total, I planted 6 different kinds of squash, 3 different kinds of pumpkin as well as cantaloupe, vine peach and 2 different kinds of watermelon. A full seed pack (or two) of each.
- Yellow summer squash
- Zucchini
- Pattypan
- Butternut
- Spaghetti
- Acorn
- Vine peach
- Cantaloupe
- Sugar baby watermelon
- Seedless watermelon
- Baby pam pumpkin
- White pumpkin
- Jack-o-Lantern pumpkin
Added to that are our volunteers which look like spaghetti squash and watermelon.
And so family and friends, if our squash yield is as much as the blossoms so far are promising…expect to find squash on your doorsteps, in your cabinets and if necessary…in your vehicles.
Too much squash for us
Plenty for family and friends
Guests, you get some too
Zucchini noodles is my favorite discovery this year. Enjoy!
